Podcaster, Lungelo “KM” Mdletshe officially celebrates the beginning of his television career as one of the hosts of SABC 1’s educational program, Daily Thetha.

The host of the Engineer Your Life podcast made his television debut on Monday, 6 April. Judging by the comments on his Instagram page, he seemingly made a good first impression.

LUNGELO KM’S TELEVISION DEBUT ON ‘DAILY THETHA’

Season 7 of Daily Thetha kickstarted on Monday, 6 April, featuring new faces such as Nelisiwe Cele and Gcina Mdikane.

Ursula Mariani, a podcaster and lecturer at Wits University, returns from the last season.

Lungelo expressed his appreciation for this fantastic opportunity as he stretches his broadcasting muscles. He simply captioned his post “First Live TV show, settled.”

‘ENGINEER YOUR LIFE WITH LUNGELO KM’

Lungelo’s profession as an electrical engineer inspired the name of the podcast, while factors like the quality of guests and the stellar production enhance the impact of his podcast.

As a host, he has a knack for peeling off layers of his guests while remaining respectful and professional.

At the 2025 Hollywood Foundation KZN Youth Business Awards, the thriving podcast won the Youth in Media Award, cementing its place in the media industry.

“Recognition, being seen and empowered in my home province, is such a privilege,” wrote Lungelo after receiving the award.

LUNGELO KM: AN AVID PURSUER OF EDUCATION

The 31-year-old holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, and in 2024, he was “conferred with a Master in Business Leadership” from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

UKZN is clearly favoured among celebrities, as musician Nomfundo Moh obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the same institution in 2022.

LUNGELO KM’S SKILLS REMAIN SOUGHT AFTER

Lungelo’s skills as a facilitator were sought after by fellow podcaster, Promise Makunyane, when she launched her first book, My Broken Promise, at the University of South Africa in Pretoria.

Reflecting on how he guided the discussion, he wrote the following caption on Instagram:

“Privileged to have been in conversation with author and businesswoman @promise_makunyane on the launch of her debut release, “My Broken Promise”, hosted by @unisa_universityofsouthafrica main library“, wrote Lungelo.

“I surely led this conversation with grace, empathy, and loads of opportunity for growth and reflection,” he added.

GQ Magazine also enlisted Lungelo to host their Grooming Masterclass event in August 2024, where he performed exceptionally well.

“Over the past few years, I’ve developed a platform centered around personal growth and wellness,” he said.

“Joining the GQ family is a fulfilling validation of my work, and I’m thrilled to take on a leadership role in guiding the GQ community towards a deeper understanding and practice of men’s grooming and self-care,” said Lungelo when speaking about the exciting opportunity to host the masterclass.
