Raja Athletic Club have sacked their Head Coach, Assistant Coach and Sporting Director with immediate effect after suffering a shock defeat to Olympic Club de Safi on Wednesday evening.
After beating Wydad Atheltic Club in the Casablanca derby this weekend, the Green Eagles look poised to take the Botola Pro title race to the wire but the 3-2 loss yesterday proved a major blow.
Raja trail the reigning champions by six points with three rounds of fixtures remaining in the Moroccan top-flight and new club President Aziz El Badraoui who promised major changes after replacing Anis Mahfoud this month has acted swiftly to sack the technical team.
“Raja Sports Club has parted ways with coach Mr Rachid Taoussi assistant coach Mr Mohammed Al-Bakari and sports director Mr Aziz Al-Amri,” the club statement read.
The Casablanca giants lost to Al Ahly in the CAF Super Cup under then-coach Marc Wilmots and in the CAF Champions League quarter-finals to the same opposition and will now seemingly end the campaign trophyless.
