President Cyril Ramaphosa has welcomed a ceasefire agreement involving the United States, Israel and Iran, describing it as a positive step toward reducing tensions in the Middle East.

The agreement reportedly includes a two-week pause in hostilities ahead of a deadline set by US President Donald Trump, with negotiations expected to continue during this period.

President Cyril said South Africa is encouraged by efforts aimed at ending the conflict and hopes the truce will lead to a lasting solution.
