Lekompo artist Fuego (Baswele Mfana) shot and killed

The Lekompo community is reeling from shock after musician Adifele Lastborn Maimela, popularly known as Fuego (Baswele Mfana), was shot and killed.

According to Daily Sun, he was shot in the wee hours of Tuesday, April 7 at his residential address in Polokwane allegedly by a tow truck driver. His manager, Potego Nkgadima, confirmed the news of his death in a statement issued on social media platforms.

“We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our artist, Adifele Lastborn Maimela, also known as Fuego (Baswele Mfana), who tragically lost his life in an unfortunate incident,” read the statement.

Potego remembered Fuego as a talented artist who was passionate and dedicated to his craft.

“He was not only a talented artist under our banner, but also worked closely as the personal producer and DJ to Natiey Lepaka. His passion, dedication, and contribution to the music industry will never be forgotten,” he said.

Potego said the family will share further details on funeral arrangements in due course. He also shared that the family requests space to grieve during this difficult time.

Daily Sun revealed that they learnt from several sources that Fuego and his friends were followed to their apartment by a tow truck driver and his accomplice. An argument allegedly erupted over a woman, and the tow truck driver fired a shot at Fuego. The artist was rushed to the nearest hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
