Police are looking for those responsible for the looting of foreign nationals’ shops in Yeoville, Johannesburg.
The Dudula Movement is thought to have burned and looted in the large market.
SurgeZirc SA spoke with some of the shop owners who said they received threats from the movement three days ago, and that if they did not leave, their shops would be burned down.

Shop owners and residents of Yeoville gathered as JMPD officers cordoned off their destroyed businesses.
Foreign nationals living in the city whose businesses were destroyed said all they ever wanted was to earn a decent living.
“Last week, they said they don’t want foreigners here and we said ‘no problem’ and closed the market and they came back and threatened to set the market alight,” one shop owner said.

The Yeoville residents said that they were hurt by the xenophobic acts displayed by some South Africans.
