In the new Netflix docuseries Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom, the two-time NBA champion shared that he was attracted to Khloé Kardashian because of the lifestyle that came with being associated with the Kardashian family.

The former couple got married in 2009, just a month after they began dating. They met at a party hosted by former NBA player Ron Artest.

Lamar’s documentary forms part of the Netflix Untold documentary series, where each episode features different sports personalities.

LAMAR ODOM’S TELL-ALL NETFLIX DOCUMENTARY

The former basketball player stars in this riveting documentary, which zooms in on his journey to stardom, including both his personal and professional struggles.

The doc also explores the factors that contributed to his downfall, such as substance abuse, and a series of infidelities during his marriage to Khloé.

Speaking about his marriage to Khloé, Lamar disclosed that it was her lifestyle as an A-list celebrity that attracted him to her, even though he genuinely loved her.

“I’m already Lamar Odom, and I’m just watching how she live [lives] and their lifestyle, I’m like, I know this is where I wanna [want to] be. Like, this is how I wanna [want to] live.“

LAMAR: THE BRAINS BEHIND THEIR REALITY TELEVISION SHOW

Soaking up on his newly amplified fame, the basketball icon came up with Khloé & Lamar, a reality television series that was premised on their lives.

Khloé also featured in the documentary, where she said that their reality TV show was “led by Lamar”, and that she agreed to it because she wanted to make him happy.

“Khloé & Lamar was very much led by Lamar, I was spread really thin. I also didn’t really want it to jeopardize the family brand. I thought there was [were] so many Kardashian shows,” said Khloé.

“But I also wanted to do what made him happy, and he was so excited about it,” she added.

Lamar’s daughter, Destiny Odom, shared her two cents about her father’s marriage to Khloé and his dream to appear on reality television shows.

“He did love Khloé, but he’d wanted to be on reality TV for a long time,” said Destiny.

LAMAR ODOM: ALWAYS OPEN ABOUT HIS LIFE

This is not the first project Lamar has released in which he opens up about his life.

In 2019, the New York-born native published his memoir From Darkness to Light, and in 2022, he came out with a TMZ special, Lamar Odom: Sex, Drugs & Kardashians.

When speaking about his infidelity during his marriage to Khloé and whether she knew about his substance abuse, Lamar stated:

“For part of our marriage, I had to tell her. You can’t hide that. She was hurt. But Khloé was a good wife, began Lamar.

“She wasn’t dismissive, or like, ‘Get away from me’ or ugly and nasty. She wanted to protect me. Behind the scenes, I put her through sh-t, added Lamar.

“I had these random women coming out. I was having full-blown relationships on the road, and my wife is Khloé Kardashian. It’s buggin’. I’m laughing out of embarrassment, he concluded.
