  • Three people were killed in a head-on collision between an SUV and a sedan on the R67 in the Eastern Cape.
  • The SUV caught fire, killing two occupants, while a 13-year-old boy escaped and was taken to hospital.
  • The sedan driver also died at the scene, and a culpable homicide case has been opened.

Three people have been killed in a head-on collision on the R67 between Seymour and Whittlesea in the Eastern Cape.

The crash occurred when an SUV collided with a sedan in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The SUV, carrying three people, caught fire after the crash.

Two occupants burned in the vehicle and were declared dead at the scene.

A 13-year-old boy managed to escape from the burning vehicle and was rushed to Frontier Hospital for medical attention.

The driver of the sedan was also declared dead on the scene.

Law enforcement authorities have opened a case of culpable homicide.
