His exit comes as Ukhozi FM reshuffled their presenters, adding a new lineup.

“Ukhozi FM did not renew my contract for the upcoming financial year. This is within their right and I respect the organisation’s prerogative,” he said.
He further stated that the process and communication surrounding his exit has raised concerns, which he escalated to the SABC.
Mbatha was a co-host for the Vuka Afrika Breakfast Show alongside Nonhlanhla “Mroza” Buthelezi. The show aired from 6:00 to 9:00 every Monday to Friday.
