It Ends With Us co-stars Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively faced off in a pre-trial hearing on Thursday, ahead of their New York trial in May.
Lively brought the lawsuit against Baldoni, citing 13 causes for the action, among which were sexual harassment and defamation.
This is after the two actors worked on the film It Ends With Us, a film about domestic violence and emotional abuse.
Reports said that 38-year-old Lively wanted to take over the movie by pushing for extensive creative control over the script, editing, and wardrobe.
According to Rolling Stone Australia, Lively claimed Baldoni (42), the movie’s production company Wayfarer Studios, and the other defendants subjected her to “disturbing” sexual harassment during the movie’s production.
She said they then targeted her with a “sophisticated, coordinated, and well-financed” online smear campaign after she spoke up. Lively claimed the defendants wanted to “silence” and “eviscerate” her before she had a chance to go public with her claims, the report continued.
According to The BBC, Federal Judge Lewis Liman threw out 10 of the 13 allegations, leaving breach of contract, retaliation, and aiding and abetting in retaliation for Baldoni to defend.
The civil trial is scheduled in New York on 18 May.
