Shebeshxt

Limpopo star Shebeshxt dominated conversations after emerging as one of the biggest winners at the Thobela FM Sepedi Music Awards held in Polokwane on Sunday, 29 March 2026.

The Lekompo hitmaker secured Best Male Lekompo Artist of the Year, while his smash single “Rato Laka,” featuring Zee Nxumalo, Naqua SA and Slido Man, walked away with the coveted Song of the Year award.

Thobela FM confirmed the win on its official X (formerly Twitter) page, announcing that Shebeshxt had been crowned Best Male Lekompo Artist of the Year.

His double victory quickly sparked mixed reactions online.

While fans celebrated the recognition of his music and impact on the Lekompo genre, some critics questioned the decision, with one eagle-eyed social media user noting that he was not initially listed among nominees in one of the categories he ultimately won.

Still, the night belonged to Shebeshxt musically, as his chart-topping hit and growing influence in the genre earned him top honours at one of the region’s notable music events.
