South African actress Londeka Sishi recently took to Instagram to explain why she could not attend the SAFTAs and collect her award in person. Londeka won the coveted Best Actress in a TV Soap for her role in Scandal!.

LONDEKA SISHI HOSPITALISED DURING AWARDS WEEKEND

The actress revealed that doctors rushed her to the hospital on the awards day which took place on 13 March 2026, and she stayed there until Tuesday, 17 March 2026.

She wrote: “It’s been just over a week since my SAFTA win and I’m still shook! Firstly I want to sincerely apologise for not making the awards, I had to be rushed to Hospital on Saturday and was only discharged on Tuesday (story for another day) but God is good, recovering well and getting stronger by the day.”

LONDEKA SISHI EMOTIONAL REFLECTION ON HER WIN

Even though she missed the ceremony, Londeka said the award means a lot to her.

“Every time I try to piece together words for the season, I come from and what this win actually means to me, I’m wrecked with emotions. The @saftassa nomination alone had me walking on cloud nine, the win was an affirmation I had no idea I needed. A reminder of just how infinite God is when it comes to the details of our lives,” she shared.

GRATITUDE TO TEAM AND SUPPORTERS

Londeka Sishi thanked the people who have supported her journey: “Guys? Thank you honestly from the deepest parts of me, thank you for seeing me, thank you for helping me bet on me, thank you for loving me. @keneilwematidze, I’ll forever be grateful to you.

“Thank you for being the vessel that God used to change the trajectory of my life. It was your belief in me (that I still tremble at the thought of) that has led me here. Thank you.”

She also gave a special shoutout to her Scandal! cast and crew: ”@etvscandal fa what an incredible bunch of people! Thank you for allowing me room to PLAY!’

“Thank you for believing in me and surrounding me with only the best of directors, crew members, co-Artists so that they could bring out the best in me. @kwenzo_pholoba, @pasi_koetle and @therealnombulelomhlongo thank you guys this could not have happened if you guys didn’t play along so incredibly well.”
