Chiefs coach warns teams about Duba

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Cedric Kaze was full of praise for Wandile Duba following the team’s 2-0 win over Magesi FC this past weekend.

The 21-year-old forward scored his first goal of the season to help his side win their second consecutive league game.

Duba has struggled for form at Chiefs this season and was often used as a substitute. Against Magesi, the Amakhosi development product got a rare start and he delivered the goods.

“It’s a very good performance from him today, and we want players that challenge for each position, and he’s a very important player,” Kaze said as per SABC Sports.

“He’s a player that has shown his quality since last season, and we need him, and sometimes you sleep on what you have done, and probably in the moment you don’t do enough to keep improving, but I believe that he’s coming back.”

The Burundian coach has explained why the 21-year-old speedy attacker did not start the Magesi match as a striker.

“The goal that he scored is what we ask, that’s why we didn’t even play him as a striker because we feel that when he comes from a further position he can get into the box and have more space to finish because he’s fast, he can run and we believe that coming from a further position he could get inside the box and make things happen,” he added.

With Duba and Mfundo Vilakazi finding the back of the net this past weekend, it remains to be seen if the Cheifs coaches will start with them in their next matches.

Is Duba back to his best?
