Thami Ndlala’s mall listed for auction as court orders him to vacate luxury property

Thami Ndlala’s mall

Businessman Thami Ndlala is facing fresh scrutiny after one of his high-profile ventures, Ndlala Mall, was listed for sale through a property auction, while a separate legal battle over a luxury property has taken another turn.

Reports indicate that the Johannesburg High Court has ordered Lerato Kganyago’s husband, Ndlala to vacate an upscale property located in Northcliff, following a dispute over its ownership.

The premises, situated at 14 Hillel Avenue, were reportedly at the centre of a legal challenge brought forward by a company identified as Urban Mountain.

According to court findings, the property legally belongs to the company, which successfully applied for Ndlala’s eviction after alleging that he had occupied and developed the space without proper ownership rights.

The development has drawn significant public attention, largely because of the property’s history.

Ndlala had previously transformed the residence into a boutique hotel and spa, presenting it as a lavish gift to his wife, media personality Lerato Kganyago.

At the time, the gesture made headlines, with plans for the property to operate as a luxury hospitality destination linked to her brand.

With the court now ruling in favour of Urban Mountain, questions have resurfaced around the project and its future.

The situation is further complicated by reports that Ndlala Mall, another of Ndlala’s ventures, has been listed at the Aucor Property Auction, adding to speculation about his current financial and business standing.
