Maduka To Rope In Ex-Celtic Coaches At Maritzburg?

John Maduka is expected to be unveiled at Maritzburg United today with Ditheko Mototo and Simon Gopane reportedly part of his technical team.

Maduka tendered his resignation at Royal AM last week and is said to have put pen to paper with Maritzburg as the successor to Ernst Middendorp – who was relieved of his duties.

The Team of Choice Chairman Farook Kadodia said that with the investment they made as a club, fighting relegation was no longer an option as the reason for their change in leadership.

While Maduka’s resignation has yet to be officially confirmed by the KZN club, whom he led to CAF Confederation Cup qualification, club CEO Sinky Mnisi told this website that it would be ‘proper’ to wait until John speaks.

iDiski Times have now been informed that Maduka will reassemble the technical team he worked with in his first role as a head coach as Siwelele after Abram ‘Wire’ Nteo is believed to have declined the offer to leave Royal AM and move with the Malawi icon.

Mothoho and Gopane, who were both not part of the move to KZN with Maduka will now reunite as an assistant and goalkeeper coaches respectively while Nkululeko Monaheng, the fitness coach is set to also follow suit.

The new-look technical team at United are set to be officially unveiled in a press conference at 12h00 at the Presidential Suite at the Harry Gwala Stadium this afternoon.
