Egypt Legend Ahmed Hossam Mido has tipped Pitso Mosimane to make a move into the Gulf region and praised the South African coach as a “great addition to the Egyptian Premier League”.
Mosimane parted ways with Al Ahly on Monday after requesting to leave the Egyptian giants, which the club’s board granted.
‘Jingles’ has been linked with a host of clubs, even though his representatives MT Sports came out and insisted he hasn’t agreed to any deal with a new club.
Egyptian media, though, seem convinced Mosimane will move into the Gulf region, with Mido, who famously played for Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League, tipping him to start his new job soon.
“He [Pitso] reached an agreement with a Gulf area based club, and he will be starting his new job in a couple of days,” he said, as per Kingfut.
However, Mido also praised Mosimane for his success, but insisted he had lost the dressing room at the club
“Mosimane achieved great things with Al Ahly, he won two Champions League titles with the team,” he added.
“Despite his successful stint with Al Ahly, Pitso lost the locker room due to his aggressive comments against some players.
“I’d like to thank Pitso for his time with Al Ahly, he was a very good addition to the Egyptian Premier League.”
Mosimane was in charge of 97 games at Al Ahly, losing just 10 and an incredible ratio of 2.24 points per game. He leaves the club, having secured five titles and two bronze medals at the FIFA Club Cup.
