‘I didn’t know Black Coffee was a global star when we met’

Victoria Gonzalez, the Venezuelan girlfriend of South African DJ Black Coffee, has said she didn’t know who he was when they first met in 2018 at a dinner with friends, describing that moment as seeing “a man who made me laugh” rather than a global music star.

Her comments were made at his 50th birthday celebration.

Gonzalez insisted she “never looked for money, success, or fame in a relationship,” but wanted someone who loved her “exactly the way I am.”

Their relationship has been shared widely on social media, with Victoria often posting about luxury travel and lifestyle moments with him.

The couple remains public about their connection, with Victoria saying that when two people are meant to be together, “something extraordinary happens”.
