Six housemates await their fate in the Big Brother Mzansi house as the season draws to a close. This will leave viewers of the show bored and missing their favourites.

The Bazozwa season kept viewers glued to their screens, watching Big Brother’s twists, games and parties. Through consistently watching, many have formed a bond with the housemates. Some know what their faves like and dislike, as well as their talent capabilities.

As entertaining as it was, the season is now coming to an end and soon the winner will be crowned in front of the masses. This will leave some viewers bored and not knowing which shows to watch anymore, as they have been following the 24/7 reality show.

Here is how to adapt to the absence of Big Brother Mzansi from your home:

  • Explore local drama & reality: Switch to other popular local content to fill the void. Recommended options include Inimba, Fatal Seduction, Law, Love & Betrayal, and Outlaws.
  • Try other reality formats: Watch high-stakes drama or similar competition shows like Tropika Island of Treasure, Survivor, Amazing Race, or Blue Therapy.

You can also continue to follow the housemates journeys on social media.

  • Stay updated on social media: Continue following the ex-housemates on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) for updates on their journeys and post-house relationships.
  • Watch post-show interviews: Look for interviews and reunion shows that offer insight into the housemates’ lives after the finale.
  • Engage in final discussions: Participate in fan group discussions to dissect the final week, the winner, and the “furniture” (boring) moments.

Another important thing to do would be to reclaim your time, the moments spent watching the show can be used for better things.

  • Reclaim your evenings : Use the time previously spent on Channel 198 to focus on hobbies, exercise, or spending time with family, as the intense 24/7 viewing can lead to a feeling of being “sick” or needing to “cry it out”.
  • Shift focus from drama to life: Recognise that the housemates are normal people with private lives and re-engage with your own daily life.
