The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) has reported 1,592 new COVID-19 cases.
A further 8 people have died due to COVID-19-related complications.
The majority of new infections are in Gauteng with 548 cases.
The Western Cape recorded 360 cases, while KwaZulu-Natal recorded 216 cases.
