The Grammy award-winning Michelle Williams ate and left no crumbs at the United Nations International Women’s Day event in New York, which took place on Tuesday, 9 March.

MICHELLE WILLIAMS PROFOUND SPEECH

On Instagram, Michelle expressed her utmost joy and honour at being invited not only to sing but also to deliver a speech under the theme, “Rights. Justice. Action. For All Women and Girls.”

Michelle’s speech served as an ode to the strong women in her family, emphasising how women should embrace and celebrate their own strengths and capabilities.

The Illinois-born star wrote the following caption that expresses how she was “truly impacted” and encourages women to nurture their inner strengths.

“…I was raised in Rockford, IL, by a strong woman. She told me when I was younger, “You come from a strong lineage of women!” As I look back on that statement, I realize that it’s a privilege. I also realize how that can be threatening. But girls must be told about their strength, and their strength needs to be encouraged and celebrated.”

MICHELLE IS DOING A FANTASTIC JOB IN BROADWAY

When the cast of the acclaimed Broadway production, Death Becomes Her, which is still running, was announced in 2024, many were happy and proud to see that Michelle had landed a leading role.

In this role, she plays the character named Viola Van Horn, for which she bagged a Favourite Featured Actress award at the 25th Annual Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards in 2025.

This Broadway ensemble also received a nomination at the 2025 Grammy Awards for Best Musical Theater Album. Although they did not win, this production undeniably catapulted Michelle back to Broadway.
