‘We are going to die on the pitch for the league’ – Pirates coach

Orlando Pirates head coach has promised fans that the team will ‘die on the pitch’ for the Betway Premiership.

The Buccaneers are top of the log with 10 matches still left. They are ahead of rivals Mamelodi Sundowns on goal difference following their 2-0 win against Richards Bay on Wednesday.

Pirates have won eight trophies in six years but are still yet to taste league glory in over a decade.

Speaking after the Richards Bay match, Ouaddou made a bold promise to the Bucs faithful.

“Everyone is dreaming to be champions, and we are fighting with one team to be champions,” he told SuperSport.

“It is a passion in the PSL and we are going to fight until the last minute. I can promise that we are going to die on the pitch and to believe until the last second.”

Up next for Pirates is Siwelele but their coach is not taking anything for granted. He has said in previous interviews that every game from now until the end of the season would be treated like a final.

“Difficult game again, difficult game, I can tell you that for me the most consistent teams that we faced this season it was Richards Bay and Siwelele so another tough game,” Ouaddou said.

The Moroccan tactician could be the first Pirates head coach to win a treble since Ruud Krol back in 2011. Having won the MTN and Carling Knockout, the Buccaneers will have to win the Betway Premiership if they are to secure a historic treble.
