A South African defender has been released by a club in England.

Premier League side Newcastle United have announced the departure of several academy players, and former Bidvest Wits centre back Bradley Cross is on the list.

Cross joined the Magpies in October 2020 and made 30 appearances for the club’s reserve side.

Before joining Newcastle, the 21-year-old played for German side Schalke where he turned out for the Under 19 development side.

At international level, the left-footed youngster has represented South Africa at Under 17 and Under 20 levels.
