Sibisi & Mutizwa Set To Leave Arrows?

Golden Arrows duo Knox Mutizwa and Nkosinathi Sibisi could leave the club in the upcoming transfer window if their asking prices are met, agent Mike Makaab has suggested.

Mutizwa (28) and Sibisi (26) have been two pillars of the Arrows squad in attack and defence in recent seasons with the latter breaking through initially as a right-back under Clinton Larsen and then as centre-back under Mandla Ncikazi in their record fourth-place finish in the DStv Premiership during the 2019/20 campaign.

It’s been reported in local media that Mutizwa is on his way out of the club after five years since his arrival from the now-defunct Bidvest Wits as the Zimbabwe international is recognised as one of the most consistent strikers in the South African top-flight, with 49 goals and 12 assists in 165 games for the KZN outfit.

Makaab admitted there’s truth to talk that interest is brewing in his services but stopped short of confirming that any agreement has been reached with any club.

“He [Mutizwa] has a year left on his contract and he is contracted to Golden Arrows,” Makaab of Pro Sports International said on Gagasi FM before confirming he’s held talks with Arrows Chairlady Mato Madlala over potential sales and signings.

“I’m hoping to meet with her [again] very soon, there’s a possibility that Knox might move on but it has to be the right offer, both for the club and the player. It’s probably not going the happen overnight, it’s going to take time.”

On Sibisi, who’s been the subject of major interest from Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates over the past 12 months he stated ‘general’ talks took place with Madlala and he feels that she would give her blessing for him to leave after the incredible service he’s given the club over the last few seasons.

“He’s very much part of Golden Arrows’ plans but the Chairlady also acknowledges he’s been there, worked very hard for the football club and been loyal to the football club and should an offer come from a so-called bigger team, I would honestly believe the Chairlady would consider it,” he added.

Sibisi featured in the Bafana Bafana squad against Guinea and France during the last FIFA International break in March but suffered an injury which seemingly ruled him out of contention for the latest squad in Morocco for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
