New Mamelodi Sundowns signing Sipho Mbule says he fell in love with the club growing up and idolised Teko Modise.

Mbule, 24, completed his move from SuperSport United last week, signing a three-year deal with the DStv Premiership champions.

He admits that in his childhood he watched the Brazilians during their star-studded era with Katlego Mphela, and Suprise Moriri.

“I started to watch Sundowns when I was very young and that’s when I fell in love with football, I started to watch Sundowns in the era of Koketso Mmotong, Teko Modise, Surprise Moriri, Katlego Mphela,” he said on Mamelodi Sundowns TV.

“I think I supported them once. I think they’ve been doing well, they made me love football, when I grew up I loved football and I never played another sport, I’ve been always into football.

“The legend that had me going is Teko Modise, I’ve always watched Teko Modise.”

Mbule racked up 100 appearances for Matsatsansa, scoring 11 goals and registering 10 assists across all competitions since making his professional debut back in 2017. He did win two MTN8 titles with Matsatsantsa before moving to Chloorkop.
