Lerato Mvelase joins Power FM

Power FM has pulled off a major programming coup, unveiling a refreshed line-up that brings together some of South Africa’s most recognisable names in broadcasting, politics and business.

Leading the charge is seasoned broadcaster Lerato Mvelase, whose return to prominent radio is already generating anticipation.

Renowned for her incisive interviewing style and confident on-air presence, Mvelase is expected to anchor the station’s renewed push for compelling, high-impact conversations.

She will be joined by veteran journalist and political commentator Mondli Makhanya, a respected newsroom figure with decades of experience dissecting South Africa’s political landscape.

His addition signals a clear intention to sharpen the station’s current affairs offering with analysis that is both informed and unfiltered.

Political analyst and former public servant Colleen Makhubela also forms part of the revamped roster, bringing governance expertise and policy insight to discussions around leadership, accountability and public service.

Beyond politics, the station has tapped corporate leader and author Sello Hatang, known for his work in social impact and leadership development.

His inclusion broadens the scope of conversation to include business innovation, ethical leadership and societal transformation.

Completing the refreshed ensemble is media personality Clementine Mabena, whose relatable style and audience connection further diversify the station’s sound and perspective.

The overhaul marks a strategic repositioning for Power FM as it competes in an increasingly crowded radio market.

By investing in credible, high-profile voices across sectors, the station appears focused on strengthening listener trust while delivering a mix of hard news, thoughtful commentary and culturally relevant dialogue.
