  • A specialist multi-agency task force intercepted two suspects linked to a series of luxury watch robberies.
  • The arrests followed a high-speed chase in Centurion after the gang was caught stalking a local family.
  • Police recovered two illegal firearms and ammunition, with further investigations into a wider criminal syndicate ongoing.

A high-stakes police operation has led to the arrest of two suspects linked to a notorious “follow-home” gang targeting owners of luxury watches.

An integrated task force, including SAPS Counter Intelligence and specialized tracking units, intercepted the group in Centurion as they were allegedly tailing an unsuspecting family to their residence.

The gang, known for operating across Johannesburg, reportedly used a Hyundai Accent fitted with cloned number plates to stalk victims.

After a high-speed pursuit that ended in an open field, the suspects attempted to flee on foot but were swiftly detained.

Officers seized two unlicensed firearms and a cache of ammunition from the scene.

Preliminary investigations suggest the pair and their vehicle are connected to a string of violent house robberies and high-value watch thefts.

The suspects remain in custody as authorities work to link them to further unsolved cases in the region.
