Kaizer Chiefs have signed over 10 players this season, but they are likely to end the campaign empty-handed.
After failing to secure victories in both the Nedbank Cup and Carling Knockout Cup, it seems increasingly probable that the Glamour Boys will miss out on the Betway Premiership title.
They currently sit eight points behind rivals Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, although they do have a game in hand. Compared to last season, have shown improvement, but they are still significantly behind Pirates and Sundowns.
To enhance their chances, the club’s management needs to return to the market and look for additional talent.
Here are four players Kaizer Chiefs should consider signing:
Devin Titus
The talented attacker has scored twice against Kaizer Chiefs within just a month. At 24 years old, he could bring much-needed vitality to Amakhosi’s midfield, particularly with his goal-scoring ability.
Knox Mutizwa
The Zimbabwean striker has a knack for scoring against the Soweto giants. While he is 32, which may be considered older, Mutizwa is a reliable option when Chiefs need goals, especially during critical moments when they require a winner or an equaliser.
Fawaaz Basadien
This skilled left-back was previously on Amakhosi’s radar, but reports suggest that the Soweto giants could not meet his asking price. With ongoing issues at left-back, Basadien is a player that Kaizer Chiefs should pursue, possibly trying again next season if he remains with Mamelodi Sundowns.
Kaizer Chiefs need quality players, not free agents
Thabo Molosaine
Amakhosi’s defence has been vulnerable during the second half of the season due to multiple injuries among defenders. While Zitha Kwinika has been a solid presence, Miguel Inácio has appeared shaky. Molosaine not only brings quality and composure to the backline but also possesses valuable leadership skills.
By addressing these areas, Kaizer Chiefs can work towards improving their overall performance for next season.
