Mpho Popps and wife jet to Dubai for romantic anniversary getaway

South African comedian and podcaster Mpho Popps and his wife Latoyah Modikoane have taken their love abroad, celebrating their wedding anniversary with a romantic getaway to Dubai following three years of marriage.

The couple touched down in the Middle Eastern city after commemorating three years of marriage on 18 February. The trip came after they first tied the knot in a civil ceremony in 2023, and followed a traditional celebration later attended by friends and family.

On social media, the love between the pair was on full display. In one post shared by Mpho on Instagram, he wrote directly to his wife, “Happy anniversary, Latoyah Makaelo Modikoane, thank you for making my life so much better. I love you so much ❤️.”

Latoyah’s message echoed that sentiment with gratitude and joy, saying, “Happy Anniversary, my love @mphopopps. God has been so incredibly good to us and our little family. Thank you for loving me the way you do and for making me the happiest woman in the world. Our full-circle moment, and this is only the beginning. I love you my Poppy.”

The couple has been married since 2023, their relationship stretches back more than a decade, and they share a daughter together.The pair share a daughter, Imani, and have built a close-knit family unit that has visibly shaped their public and private lives.

Mpho jokingly rebranded himself and his partner with tongue-in-cheek “royal” names inspired by their surroundings, referring to himself as “Mpho Al-Fayeed Modikoane” and his wife as “Latoyah Al-Makaelo Modikoane.”
