‘Isitha: The Enemy’ star Webster “Neo” Kutoane dies at 39

Webster “Neo” Kutoane

The South African television industry is in mourning following the death of Webster “Neo” Kutoane, best known for his role as Poni-Poni on Isitha: The Enemy.

Kutoane’s passing was confirmed on Monday, 23 February 2026, by Black Brain Pictures in a statement shared on Instagram and the show’s official Facebook page.

According to the production house, the actor, who was born on 21 March 1986, died on Sunday, 22 February 2026, at the age of 39. His cause of death was not disclosed.

In its tribute, Black Brain Pictures described Kutoane as a committed and gifted performer who brought depth and sincerity to every scene.

“Whether in moments of intensity or vulnerability, he carried his role with authenticity and depth, contributing meaningfully to the show’s impact and success,” part of the statement read.

The company also extended condolences to those closest to him.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and fans during this incredibly difficult time. May they find comfort in the legacy he leaves behind and in the many lives he touched through his craft. May his soul rest in peace.”

News of his death spread quickly across social media, with fans expressing shock and sadness over the loss.
