
On Tuesday, a Rea Vaya bus collided with a minibus taxi, causing the bus to veer off the road and crash into the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court in central Johannesburg.
The bus was taking Mirriam Makeba Street to Soweto, while the taxi was taking Marshall Street. A video shows the taxi running a red light before colliding with the Rea Vaya bus on the side.

Officers from the Joburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) responded quickly to the scene and assisted in removing the bus driver from the vehicle. Both drivers sustained injuries. They were escorted to the hospital.
A Taxi has collided with a Rea Vaya on cnr. Mirriam Makeba and Marshall Street. Both the bus and the taxi were not carrying any passengers. Drivers sustained injuries and both rushed to hospital for medical care.

When the bus and taxi collided, neither was carrying any passengers. It is unclear whether any criminal charges have been filed against the taxi driver who caused the accident.
