Ndah training with new PSL side after Pirates exit

Former Orlando Pirates star Olisa Ndah appears to be edging closer to securing his next club.

The Nigerian defender surprisingly parted ways with the Buccaneers late last month after spending five years in Mayfair.

Ndah was expected to play a major role for Abdeslam Ouaddou following the departure of Mbekezeli Mbokazi. Instead, the towering 28-year-old abruptly left the Buccaneers.

Former Orlando Pirates star spotted at Stellenbosch

Olisa Ndah has arrived at Stellenbosch with the hope of impressing coach Gavin Hunt.

His agent Mike Makaab has confirmed that talks are ongoing between the talented Nigerian defender and the struggling Cape side.

“Yes, I can tell you that Olisa Ndah is at Stellenbosch after leaving Orlando Pirates. We are discussing the possibility of a move with the club,” his agent told FARPost.

“He arrived on Monday to start training with the club, and we’re hoping that by the end of this week, we could reach a conclusion on Olisa Ndah’s future. He received his clearance within the January transfer window from Pirates, so he will be eligible to play for the club immediately should he sign.”

Stellies are desperately aiming to avoid relegation after a terrible first-half of the campaign.

The Cape outfit have conceded 18 goals while scoring just 11 so far in the league this season. It makes complete sense for them to sign Ndah, to help close the leaking tap

Ndah’s run in the PSL

Ndah has proven to be a solid defender since joining Orlando Pirates. He joined the club as a relatively unknown player from Akwa United back in 2021.

In total, he made 81 appearances for the Buccaneers. His strength, aerial ability and composure has been standout features of his game. These skills are definitely what Gavin Hunt could make use of to save Stellenbosch’s top-flight status.
