Former Miss South Africa Claudia Henkel has distanced herself from her ex-husband, Orin Roesstorff, amid headlines of his mounting debt against an investment company.

According to reports, the beauty queen was named in the lawsuit due to an administrative error by the Department of Home Affairs, which erroneously claimed she was still legally married to the father of her twin children.

CLAUDIA HENKEL SETS THE RECORD STRAIGHT ON EX’S LEGAL WOES

In a statement on her social media platforms, Claudia Henkel set the record straight about media reports naming her in a lawsuit against her ex-husband, Orin Roesstorff.

The businessman is facing a partial sequestration filed by investment company Linea Investments to recover R3 million in debts. Henkel found herself caught in the crossfire after the lawsuit sought to have her assets placed under the control of a trustee.

The move was a result of a Home Affairs clerical error that claimed Henkel and Roesstorff were still legally married. However, the beauty queen has insisted her divorce was finalised in 2023.

A luxury car, a R2 million Porsche Cayenne, belonging to a man she dated after her divorce, led to questions around her assets. Henkel stated the car was provisionally given to her during her relationship, but once that ended, she returned it to the owner.

She shared: “I would prefer not to be drawn into issues my ex-husband faces. What happened between Orin and I during our marriage is also a thing of the past, and I am moving on with my life”.

She added: “I was once a beauty queen, which was newsworthy for a while. But that was a long time ago. Today I am just a single mom to two young children that I adore and want to protect”.

MESSY MARRIAGE SPLIT AND ANOTHER PUBLIC BREAKUP

Claudia Henkel and Orin Roesstorff met in 2011 and married in 2015 in a picturesque wedding.

Soon after the 2018 birth of their twins – a boy and a girl – their marriage began to unravel. In February 2019, Claudia and Orin announced their separation.

In 2020, Henkel told the media that the couple had “drifted apart.”

After their marriage split, Roesstorff went public with his romance with partner, Chloe Frampton.

A few months later, Roesstorff and Frampton appeared to have a wedding ceremony, later claiming it was merely a “commitment” ceremony.

At the time, Henkel was still legally married to her ex. She said of the “wedding” pictures: “I was shocked and upset when I found out. I didn’t know anything about this. He didn’t even invite our kids, although he often tells me how much he misses them”.

In 2023, Claudia Henkel’s divorce was finalised. A few months later, she began dating another man, whom she posted on her social media platforms.

The couple got engaged during a tropical island getaway. However, their relationship ended abruptly not long after.
