Kaizer Chiefs face Do or Die match on Sunday?

Kaizer Chiefs are suddenly under high pressure after losing 2-1 to Stellenbosch in the Nedbank Cup last 32.

The shock defeat erased the confidence created after last Sunday’s 1-0 win over ZESCO United in the CAF Confederation Cup.

That victory lifted them to second place in Group D with seven points. But Sunday night in Egypt shook things up. Zamalek beat Al-Masry 2-1, leaving Chiefs level on points with the Egyptians while Zamalek tops the group on eight.

KAIZER CHIEFS PREPARE FOR MUST-WIN GAME AGAINST AL-MASRY

Coming up on Sunday is the visit of Egyptian side Al-Masry, a team that beat Amakhosi 2-1 in Suez. Soon after Sunday’s showdown at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, Kaizer Chiefs will face log-leaders Zamalek away in Cairo, while Al-Masry will be facing the group’s weakest link, ZESCO, on the same night.

HISTORY IN THE CAF CONFEDERATION CUP

Amakhosi’s CAF Confederation Cup includes the championship in 2001 when they beat Angolan club Inter de Luanda 2–1 on aggregate in the two-legged final, while it was still called the African Cup Winners’ Cup.

In 2014, the Soweto giants were sent home by Ivorian giants ASEC Mimosas in the playoff round. In 2018/19, Kaizer Chiefs fell to Zesco United in the second qualifying round.

DO YOU EXPECT KAIZER CHIEFS TO WIN THE POINTS AGAINST AL-MASRY AND ZAMALEK TO ADVANCE TO THE QUARTERFINALS?
