Who is likely to sign and who WON’T be joining Amakhosi

Kaizer Chiefs are linked with several players. They will sign a couple of them.

Kaizer Chiefs are linked with a whole new team worth of players from the likes of Mamelodi Sundowns, Bafana Bafana and PSL rivals.

So, the good news is that a couple of these players are close to joining Amakhosi. The bad news is that some of these targets will not be joining Chiefs.

PLAYERS WHO WILL NOT BE JOINING CHIEFS

Percy Tau and Fiston Mayele will NOT be joining Chiefs.

Despite Tau’s willingness to join Amakhosi at a substantially reduced rate, Amakhosi are not interested in signing him. This is because they don’t want to repeat the mistakes they made with Keagan Dolly and Khama Billiat. Previously, they signed big-name stars who were in their 30’s and in both instances they performed well below the expectations of Chiefs fans.

Meanwhile, Mayele is no longer open to returning to the PSL. His brother recently claimed that he is no longer interested in coming to South Africa. He is more likely to entertain a move to Saudi Arabia.

Finally, talks over Feisal Salum have gone quiet. Therefore, it appears that Amakhosi are no longer interested. Either that, or they have new priorities in the midfield.

AMAKHOSI CLOSING IN ON LATEST SIGNINGS

Chiefs are closing in on their SEVENTH player signing.

Furthermore, reports claim that both Asanele Velebayi and Luke Maartman have agreed to personal terms with Amakhosi. However, Chiefs and Cape Town Spurs are involved in a legal dispute over their contracts.

Meaning, both players are expected be announced if this is resolved.
