The late Kiernan “AKA” Forbes is being fondly remembered and celebrated on what would have been his 38th birthday, with heartfelt tributes pouring in across his official social media platforms.

A post shared in his honour reflected on his impact as both an artist and a cultural figure, celebrating the legacy he left behind.

The message read, “Today, the nation pauses to honour a son of the soil who carried South Africa with him wherever he went. Kiernan’s voice gave us confidence, his music gave us identity, and his legacy continues to inspire generations. Though he may be absent in body, his presence lives on in every lyric, every memory, every dream he helped shape. 38 in spirit. Infinite in legacy. Long live Supa Mega. Live long.”

The tribute struck a chord with fans, colleagues and friends, who flooded the comments with birthday wishes, memories and messages of love.

Many reflected on how AKA’s music shaped their lives, while others thanked him for representing South Africa on global stages with pride and authenticity.

Although he is no longer here physically, the outpouring of love on his birthday served as a reminder of the enduring influence AKA continues to have through his music, his words and the cultural footprint he left behind.
