ANC Withdraws Membership Of Suspect Arrested In Hillary Gardee Murder

Philemon Lukhele, one of the accused in the kidnapping and murder of Hillary Gardee, has had his membership in the African National Congress (ANC) in Mpumalanga revoked.

Hillary Gardee, the daughter of former EFF secretary-general Godrich Gardee, was discovered dead four days after she went missing last month.

The ANC’s working committee in Mpumalanga stripped Lukhele of his membership following his arrest and involvement in the kidnapping, rape, and murder of the 28-year-old.

Following an internal investigation, the ANC also revealed that Lukhele’s membership was obtained illegally as he was not a South African national.

Lukhele was arrested along with two other men and was due to appear in Nelspruit Magistrates Court next month.
