  • Tebogo Mnisi faces five charges, including two counts of premeditated murder, following his arrest in October.
  • Cousins Tshiamo and Baleseng Moramaga were fatally shot and left by a roadside after an evening out.
  • Proceedings resume today to determine the next steps, with the possibility of the state adding further charges.

A 38-year-old man is due to appear in the Mamelodi Magistrate’s Court today in connection with the brutal killing of two young women who were gunned down following a night out last year.

The accused, Tebogo Mnisi, has been in custody for over two months after opting to abandon his bail application during his initial court appearance in October.

He faces a string of serious charges related to the deaths of 22-year-old Tshiamo Moramaga and her 21-year-old cousin, Baleseng Moramaga.

The bodies of the two women were discovered with multiple gunshot wounds alongside a road in Mamelodi East Extension 17.

The discovery sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the ongoing crisis of violent crime against women in the region.
