Percy Tau was one of six Al Ahly stars who were named in the CAF Champions League Team of the Week after his Man of the Match performance over ES Setif.
The South African winger, who had gone almost two months without scoring, netted a brace and assisted two more in his side’s 4-0 home win over the Algerian side.
Tau almost singlehandedly put Al Ahly into their third successive CAF Champions League final, with the reigning champions now needing to finish the job in Algeria on Saturday.
But Tau was not the only recognised Al Ahly player for his fine first leg performance, as five other Al Ahly players joined him in the CAFCL Team of the Week.
In addition to the Young Lion, goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shennawy, left-back Ali Maaloul, midfielders Aliou Dieng and Hamdi Fathy as well as forward Taher Mohamed were selected by the judges.
