Lerato Nxumalo shows off her husband’s underwear online

South African actress and influencer Lerato Nxumalo has found herself at the centre of online criticism after a seemingly lighthearted video about her husband’s underwear sparked heated reactions on social media.

The newly married star, who tied the knot with her husband in 2025, shared a casual video showing herself complaining about having to wash his underwear while holding it up to the camera.

The clip later resurfaced on X, where it was reposted with a caption that read: “Lerato Nxumalo letting us know her yt husband is nasty by not washing his own underwear so he leaves it in the laundry to let Lerato wash ishlama sakhe. Gross.”

While some may have viewed the video as harmless humour, a number of users were unimpressed and questioned the appropriateness of sharing such personal details online.

Several commenters felt the post crossed a line and showed a lack of respect towards her marriage.

“But why would she take a video/go live showing people her ‘husband’s’ underwear and telling us such things…? Where’s the respect? I don’t know man, maybe I’m just raised right,” one user wrote.

Another added, “The kind of information you keep very far from the internet as a married woman.”

Others echoed similar sentiments, with one person saying, “We didn’t have to know this but keh… till death do us apart kodwa keh your undies?? Draw the line,” while another commented, “Embarrassing your husband online is stupid. Especially over issues you can discuss at home. Why is she giving us this information exactly?”
