Makhadzi’s team releases statement following car crash report

Award-winning Limpopo musician Makhadzi was involved in a car accident on Wednesday, 31 December 2025, sparking concern among fans as details of the incident began circulating online.

The hitmaker, born Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, was reportedly travelling from Limpopo to Johannesburg when the crash occurred earlier that morning.

News of the accident was first shared by celebrity blog Maphepha Ndaba, which confirmed that the singer had been rushed to hospital for medical attention.

“Speedy recovery to @makhadzisa. 🙏🏾❤️ Award-winning South African musician #Makhadzi involved in a car accident. She was rushed to the hospital. It is reported that our beloved Khadzi is recovering in the hospital. Bondaba, please keep Khadzi in your prayers,” the blog shared in a post.

Shortly after the news broke, Makhadzi’s team released a statement confirming that the singer is receiving medical care and remains under close observation.

“Her condition is stable and under close observation by medical professionals,” the statement read.

The family has requested privacy during what they described as a challenging time and assured supporters that further updates will be shared when appropriate.

Makhadzi becomes the latest South African star to be involved in a road accident in 2025, following similar incidents involving artists such as Kaycherlow, Chymamusique, Kharishma and Kaylow.

The news prompted an outpouring of support on social media, with fans and fellow musicians wishing the multi-award-winning performer a speedy recovery.
