Zandie Khumalo and husband

Zandie Khumalo-Gumede and her husband, businessman Mhlonishwa “Mhlo” Gumede, are marking ten years together, a milestone the singer celebrated with a touching message on Instagram.

The pair began their relationship back in 2015 and made things official the following year with a colourful traditional ceremony in Umzinto, KwaZulu-Natal.

In 2021, their union grew even stronger with the arrival of their son, Zenala.

Reflecting on their journey, Zandie shared heartfelt words about life as Mrs Gumede and how her husband managed their lobola proceedings.

She wrote, “10 years later, siyisikhonkwane no Gumede ngeke usenze lutho futhi. It’s been years of love, growth, and grace.”

Her anniversary message reignited interest in past reports about her marriage dynamics. Last year, speculation emerged that Mhlo was preparing to take a second wife.

At the time, Zandie responded by expressing that she was raised in a polygamous environment and had no issue with iSthembu.

“I am an African and completely for iSthembu, ngikhulele khona esithenjini through my grandfather. I am here kwaGumede ukuzokwakha umuzi, and uGumede is the leader and the head of this family,” she said.
