Professor Thuli Madonsela, the former Public Protector of South Africa, has shared her ongoing grief five months after the death of her beloved husband, Richard Edward Foxton.

Mr Foxton, affectionately known as Dick, passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on 21 June.

He was a respected figure, known as the visionary founder of the ethical communication firm, Foxton Communicating, as well as a devoted father and grandfather of nine.

Taking to social media to mark the five-month anniversary of his passing, Professor Madonsela described the profound impact of her loss.

“Today marks 5 months since the lifequake unleashed on my life by the sudden passing of my life partner… yet sometimes it still feels like a nightmare that I will wake up from,” she posted.

Since becoming a widow, Professor Madonsela has regularly paid tribute to Mr Foxton, including holding an intimate celebration in September on what would have been his 83rd birthday.
