Radio presenter, DJ and podcaster, Solomzi Thandubuntu Phenduka, better known as Sol Phenduka has recently earned recognition from Telkom Radio Awards for his stellar work on the Kaya 959 show, Siz The World.

Sol has earned a nomination for Best Traffic Presenter after his departure at Kaya 959. He has worked at Kaya as a co-host of the breakfast Chill show with Dineo Ranaka, and with MacGyver ‘MacG’ Mukwevho, on a podcast on YouTube.

Gushing over his nomination, Sol took to his X (formerly Twitter) page and said: ” Look who’s nominated for Best Traffic Presenter at the Radio Awards.”

He also reposted an X post, where his former radio station, Kaya 959 extended their heartfelt congratulatory message to the nominated presenters. Quoting the post, he said : “Such amazing people who have been nominated. Each and everyone of them, super dope humans. All the best fam.”

Sol was let go from Kaya 959 following the ‘misogynistic remarks’ that were made about Minnie Dlamini on Podcast and Chill. Kaya 959 acting Managing Executive Dave Tiltmann said in an issued statement:

“Kaya 959 cannot and will not condone comments made on the MacG Vodcast, where Sol Phenduka is an integral part of the presenting team,” said Dave.
