Mihlali Ndamase’s pricey masterclass tickets spark heated debate online

Mihlali Ndamase has once again found herself at the centre of social media discussions after details of her upcoming makeup masterclass surfaced online.

The beauty influencer is set to host her “Beauty and the Beat” session in Johannesburg on 23 November 2025, but it’s the ticket prices, not the event itself that have sent Mzansi into a frenzy.

The always-controversial Musa Khawula posted a snapshot of the ticket costs on X, highlighting how expensive they are in what he referred to as a struggling “Cyril economy.”

His post quickly ignited conversation, with many users expressing shock at how much it will cost to attend a few hours of makeup training with the star.

With Mihlali’s name already a hot topic due to her public life and past relationships, the reaction was immediate.

Some questioned whether her brand still holds enough influence to justify such pricing, while others defended her right to charge what she believes her expertise is worth.

As usual, the comments section didn’t hold back.

One user, @mmopa_n, wrote: “She will postpone again. With new, smarter influences who are more relatable on the block, it’s only wise that she discounts the price by 50%. Only Grace Mondlana can pull this pricing off.”

Another, @Waylonjunior, couldn’t believe the cost, saying: “R3500 per person? For just that, Ladies, your pockets are disrespectfully rich.”

A third commenter, @lioneszT, urged fans to think financially: “Xmas is just around the corner, a few days away! Then January comes knocking at the door… At R3.5k, the make-up class it’s even costlier. Save it for varsity registration.”
