Amanda du Pont has vowed to continue her advocacy against gender-based violence (GBV), particularly to NGO Women For Change, who are facilitating a nationwide shutdown next week.

AMANDA DU PONT BACKS GBV FIGHT

On their Instagram account, Women For Change has been counting down to their G20 Women’s Shutdown on Friday, 21 November. This follows their petition – which has surpassed one million signatures – to declare GBV a national disaster.

Amanda du Pont has publicly shown her support, posting in the comments section: “This is happening across all genders, to children too. To whoever has been affected, and those not alive today. We stand and fight for you.”

Amanda – through he skincare business Lelive – also pledged to donate R100 000 towards the cause.

“This is not just a campaign moment for us – it’s personal”, the company shared.

ALLEGATIONS AGAINST JUB JUB

In 2021, Amanda du Pont made headlines when she publicly accused ex-boyfriend Jub Jub of rape, attempted murder, and assault.

The model and presenter is one of four women who laid charges against the Uyajola 9/9 star who was arrested in 2023.

Amanda du Pont accused her ex Jub Jub of rape and abuse. He was arrested in 2023, however his charges were later dropped.

In court papers leaked to the media, Amanda detailed her explosive relationship with her ex, which began in 2006. In it, she claimed that the star had repeatedly raped and abused her. She also claims that the hitmaker attempted to “murder” her in 2008.

A few months after his arrest,  the state withdrew the charges against Jub Jub as “there are no reasonable prospects of a successful prosecution.”
