Music producer Chymamusique has shared the emotional toll of his long recovery journey, revealing that he’s exhausted after undergoing more than six surgeries in just two months.

The star, whose real name is Collen Mmotla, says he’s considering postponing one of his remaining procedures because his body is struggling to cope.

“I’m thinking of leaving one operation for next year because I’m tired of being under anaesthetic and having to heal from endless wounds,” he told The Citizen.

His latest procedure, done on Wednesday, was to repair his jaw so he can “at least be able to eat solid food.”

Chymamusique and fellow artist DJ Poizen were involved in a devastating head-on collision on the N1 near Ysterberg Mountain in late August.

Tragically, DJ Poizen, real name Calvin Masetla, did not survive the accident.

According to Limpopo’s Department of Transport and Community Safety, the two sedans involved caught fire after crashing.

Since then, the award-winning producer has battled through multiple surgeries and a painful recovery that forced him to cancel all November gigs.

His doctors are hopeful that he’ll gradually return to performing. “Towards the end of December, I would be healed of most operations,” he said.

Earlier this week, he opened a BackABuddy fundraising page after supporters encouraged him to allow the public to assist with his medical expenses, even though he has medical aid.
