PICS: Inside King Misuzulu and Queen Nomzamo kaMyeni’s lavish traditional wedding

- King Misuzulu and Queen Nomzamo kaMyeni married in a lavish traditional ceremony at KwaKhangelamakengane Royal Palace, Nongoma.
- The event was attended by EFF president Julius Malema, who gifted two cows, and Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi.
- The wedding followed the Umkhehlo pre-wedding ritual and was preceded by legal and family disputes over the marriage.
King Misuzulu kaZwelithini and his third wife, Nomzamo kaMyeni, officially tied the knot in a lavish traditional ceremony held at KwaKhangelamakengane Royal Palace in Nongoma on Sunday, 9 November 2025.
The wedding was notably attended by Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) president Julius Malema, who presented a gift of two cows to the Zulu king and delivered a speech.
“President @Julius_S_Malema delivering a powerful address at the Royal Traditional Wedding of His Majesty King Misuzulu KaZwelithini — a moment that signifies continuity, stability, and the strengthening of the Zulu Kingdom, the EFF wrote on social media.
Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi also attended the event, joining in the song and dance celebrations.

The wedding followed the couple’s Umkhehlo Ceremony, a traditional Zulu pre-wedding ritual, which took place at Jozini Stadium on Friday, 7 November.
King Misuzulu is currently married to:
- Queen Ntokozo kaMayisela Zulu (first wife)
- Queen Nozizwe Mulela kaMakhubu from the Kingdom of eSwatini (second wife)
- He recently proposed to his fourth wife-in-waiting, Princess Sihle Mdluli, at the Reed Dance in Eswatini.
He paid lobola for Nomzamo kaMyeni in May 2024 and was initially set to marry her on 26 January 2025.
However, the ceremony was abruptly postponed after he reportedly canceled the wedding and withdrew her security.
Meanwhile, KaMayisela Zulu filed an urgent interdict to block the marriage, arguing it was unlawful while they remained in a civil union.
The court dismissed her application on 20 January 2025.
Misuzulu also reportedly filed for divorce from Mayisela at the Pietermaritzburg High Court in January 2025.
