Family extensions are fast becoming the trend in Springbok circles.

Following the recent arrivals of Eben Etzebeth and Handre Pollard’s second-born babies, another one of their Springbok teammates will be becoming a father for the second time.

After missing out on Springbok selection as part of coach Rassie Erasmus’ end-of-year touring squad, the double World Cup winner Faf de Klerk and his wife, Miné, have been making full use of the time off while they still can.

This comes as there are now merely a few days to go until they officially become parents for the second time.

Taking to Instagram stories, the Springbok scrum-half shared a picture of himself and his family unwinding in nature ahead of the sleepless nights.

The couple first announced the news of their pregnancy in June of this year.

“Surprise! We’re growing the De Klerk team! Big Sister Duty: Pick the Faffie of our new teammate… another girl on the way.” they captioned.

Since then, they have been spending lots of time traveling the world on well-deserved getaways while Miné has also been preparing herself for the new addition to the family with regular countdowns.

Their eldest, Remi-Re, was born on 27 February, weighing 2.85 kilograms and 48 centimetres in length. Since then, they have been embracing parenthood and, by the looks of it, are more than overjoyed to welcome another addition.
