  • South African motorists will see petrol prices drop by 51 cents per litre and diesel prices fall by up to 21 cents per litre starting Wednesday, 5 November.
  • The decrease is primarily due to a strengthening Rand against the dollar and a decline in international Brent crude oil prices.
  • Inland 95-octane petrol will now cost R21.12 per litre, while coastal 95-octane petrol will be R20.29 per litre.

South African motorists are set to receive some welcome financial relief this week as petrol and diesel prices are scheduled to fall across the board from Wednesday, 5 November.

The Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources confirmed that the price of both 93- and 95-octane petrol (ULP and LRP) will be reduced by 51 cents per litre.

Diesel users will also see a decrease, albeit a more modest one: the wholesale price of the higher-sulphur grade (0.05%) will drop by 21 cents per litre, while the lower-sulphur diesel (0.005%) will fall by 19 cents per litre.

Province Type Fuel Grade New Price (per litre)
Inland 93 Petrol R20.97
95 Petrol R21.12
Diesel 0.05% (Wholesale) R19.13
Diesel 0.005% (Wholesale) R19.20
Coastal 93 Petrol R20.18
95 Petrol R20.29
Diesel 0.05% (Wholesale) R18.30
