Sports broadcaster beams over starboy Sacha

Springbok Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu received a warm embrace from his father, sports broadcaster Nick Feinberg, after his phenomenal performance in the South Africa vs Japan match in Wembley Stadium in the UK over the weekend.

The famous flyhalf is of mixed-race heritage and is the grandson of anti-Apartheid hero Barry Feinberg.

SACHA FEINBERG-MNGOMEZULU HAS PROUD DAD MOMENT

On his X account, Nick Feinberg posted a proud dad moment after attending the Springboks game in the UK over the weekend.

During the match, Sacha scored four out of the five tries, securing South Africa’s 61-7 victory against Japan.

Nick – who is a sports writer and attended Sacha’s debut match in Twickenham last year, posted a clip of him embracing his son after the game.

In another, he smiled alongside his son, who has been nicknamed “Starboy Sacha”.

Nick shared: “How do you say proud dad, without saying proud dad? FFS I’m such a giveaway 😂”.

MAKING GRANDPA PROUD TOO

Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu is likely making his grandfather, the late Barry Feinberg, just as proud.

According to the SABC, Barry – who died in 2023 –  was a distinguished artist, poet, and author who “played a pivotal role behind the scenes in designing and creating publicity materials for the anti-Apartheid movement.”

Daily Maverick credits Feinberg for his revolutionary creation of the early ANC and Umkhonto weSizwe logos, which features a warrior with a shield and spear.

During apartheid, Feinberg was forced into a 30-year exile, where he fathered his son Nick, the father of Sacha Feinberg-Mgomezulu.

“Hope I made you proud, Grandpa”, Sacha shared on social media last year after his official Springbok debut.
