Kaizer Chiefs’ leading stories of the week featured Naphtali Mokoena, former youngster Khulumani Ndamane and club legend Fabian McCarthy.

Amakhosi are promoting the new Bruce Bvuma, who could potentially become the great Itumeleng Khune. 19-year-old reserve side goalie Mokoena, who was key in the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) championship last term, travelled with the senior team to face Durban City at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Friday.

Indications suggest Mokoena is being prepared to replace the much-troubled Fiacre Ntwari.

FABIAN MCCARTHY ON HIS TWO SONS

Name a former player who has two kids playing for Amakhosi.

Fabian McCarthy, the club’s former captain, has his eldest son, Aden, in the Glamour Boys senior team, while his youngest, Austin, is a budding defender in the U14s.

“Believe it or not, I don’t coach my kids. I’m just a fan,” McCarthy said. “I’ll criticise them here and there, but I always try to be honest and transparent.”

KHULUMANI NDAMANE INSPIRED BY KAIZER CHIEFS DEFENDER

Former Amakhosi DDC star Khulumani Ndamane needed just a season at TS Galaxy to become a Bafana Bafana international who is on the brink of going to Afcon 2025 in Morocco in December.

The 21-year-old left-footed central defender, from Weenen, KZN, who also drew interest from Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates, has revealed his favourite player at Kaizer Chiefs.
