Sundowns and Pirates produce entertaining draw

Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw in the Betway Premiership at the Loftus Versfeld this afternoon.

Pirates youngster Camren Dansin scored a worldie in the 35th minute to cancel out Peter Shalulile’s 21st-minute opener for Sundowns.

The result increased the Buccaneers’ unbeaten run in the league to seven games. They are now in third place with three points behind leaders Sundowns, as well as two games in hand.

Today’s draw was the third consecutive tie after the two sides produced two 1-1 draws in the MTN8 semifinals in September, with the Sea Robbers winning on penalties.

Coming up next for Pirates is a trip to Golden Arrows on Wednesday, while Sundowns will be at home to TS Galaxy on the same night in Tshwane.

Sundowns line-up: Williams, Mudau, Modiba, Kekana, Cupido, Aubaas, Allende, Matthews, Santos, Sales, Shalulile.
